A pair of women have tricked their way into a care home to steal from elderly vulnerable residents.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the women tricked their way into the home on Outram Road, Croydon, on October 8 at around 7pm.

They knock on three resident’s doors and managed to get into the apartment of a 89-year-old woman and steal a purse containing £40.

The suspects claimed they were visiting a resident who was not at home in order to get into the other resident’s home.

The first woman is described an Asian woman who used the name Sandra, 5ft 7ins aged between 25 and 30 wearing jeans.

The second suspect is described as a black woman in her mid-30s 5ft 5ins tall with braided hair wearing a multi-coloured knitted woollen hat a black coat and black trousers.

DC Gabi Desouza, who is investigating the case said: “Despite our initial enquiries to find out who the two women were, we have not been able to identify these suspects.

“No violence was used or intimated in these offences, but nonetheless, the impact of this on the victims is still significant.”
