A man reported to police as having a samurai sword was in fact holding tai chi exercise equipment.
Police were called to Longmore Road, Hersham, at 7.30am on Thursday, November 17, when they had reports of “suspicious activity”.
Members of the public reported outside a house holding what appeared to be a samurai sword.
A police spokesman said: “Officers quickly attended the scene and established that the implement was a piece of exercise equipment used in tai chi.
“The man was given strong words of advice at the scene by officers.”
