Former Met Police winger Tony Finn may have bid farewell to the Blues, but he expects to see them again in the Ryman Premier League play-offs.
Finn played in last Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Kingstonian at Imber Court before switching to league rivals Carshalton Athletic on Friday.
The former AFC Wimbledon forward has traded boss Jimmy Cooper’s title chasers for the mid-table Robins, who are currently 13th.
The two teams will meet again in January at Colston Avenue and Finn anticipates a third meeting in May – with promotion at stake.
“I nearly moved to Carshalton in the summer, but it didn’t work out. A lot of my friends play there and that was the main reason I moved,” he said.
“It was decent money to move, but not as much as everyone is making out.
“Met Police are a great club and it was a tough decision to make and the management have always been supportive.
“They will be alright without me. I expect them to be right up there and maybe we’ll meet in the play-offs.”
The Blues host Tooting & Mitcham tomorrow.
