A carpenter and kitchen fitter from Wallington is becoming a regular in DIY programmes.

Yves Way, 30, owns Rightway Carpentry which is based in South Croydon and usually specialises in kitchen fitting around the Sutton area.

However after Mr Way gave an eccentric renovation to a barber shop in Epsom he was approached by a producer to take part in ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover.

Mr Way took the opportunity and shortly after he finished filming the new series due to air in January 2012, he was asked to take part in a new show on Channel 4 called The Renovation Game.

He began filming in August of this year and the show started airing last week. Mr Way features in various episodes throughout the series, where he and a team of builders and designers are given three days and £3000 to increase a property’s value by £15000.

Mr Way said: “I’ve really enjoyed everything; it has been such a nice change. My friends and family are very pleased and are all so excited to watch the shows, I don’t tell them when we win.

“We have a meeting with the house owners to discuss the property; no-one’s been upset yet but we have had issues with some of the choices we have made.”
