Amateur artists are invited to try their hand at printwork and exhibit their creations in a popular art gallery as part of a free family fun day.

A drop-in printmaking workshop will be running this Sunday (November 20) at the Pump House Gallery in Battersea Park from 11am to 3pm.

The gallery’s project room will be turned into a print studio for the free workshop and visitors will be taught how to make simple, effective and beautiful black and white prints.

They will also have the chance to share their creative endeavours with others by submitting them for inclusion in the Pump House’s current exhibition I Am The Warrior.

I Am The Warrior features all kinds of creations - including collages, chairs and even chutney - contributed by community members of different artistic skill levels.

Juneau Projects, comprised of artists Ben Sadler and Phil Duckworth, has been working with residents from Battersea's Doddington and Rollo Estates to create a genuinely open exhibition at the gallery to showcase their own work.

And now submissions are being accepted from across the borough and the capital. Any work that results from creative activity can be submitted - this may include stitching, writing, model making, recorded sound, cake decorating, as well as more traditional art and craft works.

The printmaking workshop is one of Wandsworth Council’s once-a-month family days at the Pump House. They are designed to get residents of all ages together for some hands on art-making.

Sunday’s event is free and booking is not necessary but space is limited. Donations to the gallery are welcome.
