Police are appealing for witnesses following a high-speed pursuit of a car in Ewell last month.

A blue BMW 325 was pursued for 25 minutes by police on Tuesday, October 18.

The chase began at about 11.30am from Hook Road after reports that the vehicle may have been used in a previous offence.

Officers activated lights and sirens and indicated the driver to pull over but the driver of the BMW continued to drive turning on to Chase Road at the mini roundabout before turning on to Temple Road and rejoining Hook Road.

The vehicle then turned left at the Hook Arena roundabout on to Chessington Road at which point another police vehicle joined the pursuit.

The BMW then turned right at the roundabout on to Ruxley Lane before turning right again on to Scotts Farm Road, continuing to the end of Poole Road before turning right into Heatherside Road.

The driver then did the same loop from Chessington Road to Ruxley Lane to Scotts Farm Road before coming to a stop.

Stacey Owens, investigating officer, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who recalls seeing this BMW which would have been quite noticeably being pursued by the police.

“The pursuit has lasted some time and taken in dual carriageways with a high volume of traffic as well as much more residential roads.”

A 26-year-old man from Croydon and a 32-year-old man from Battersea have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have been released on bail at Reigate Police Station until Thursday, December 15.
