Cash-strapped shoppers who want to update their wardrobes without paying a penny are being invited to a clothes exchange event.
People in Lambeth can swap their old threads for new ones as part of a clothes ‘swishing’ evening in Brixton.
Everyone who attends can bring up to five items of good quality clothing and trade them for something new.
Lambeth Council recycling officer Catherine Bourke, who is organising the event, said: “It’s a great way to give unwanted clothes a new lease of life.
“We’ve all got items we rarely wear sitting at the back of our wardrobes and swishing provides the perfect opportunity exchange them for something you will wear.”
The clothes swap will take place at The Ritzy in Brixton on November 22 from 7.30pm. To book a place email cbourke2@lambeth.gov.uk.
