A teenager girl was cut with a tile, hit with a brick, had her hair burned and cut and was spat on during a brutal attack by three girls, a court has heard.

The victim, who was 13 at the time, has given evidence from behind a screen at Croydon Crown Court on Monday November 21 describing the assault in Grange Park, Thornton Heath on June 9 last year.

Two teenagers; Lauren Barrington-Brown, 19, and a 16-year-old who cannot be named, have pleaded guilty to administering poison with intent to injure, committing assault causing actual bodily harm and false imprisonment.

A third girl, aged 16 from the Thornton Heath area, is on trial after pleading not guilty to the charges.

The victim, now 14, said: "She had a tile in her hand. She asked if I wanted it in the face or the arm. I said the arm."

The court heard she was lured out by the 16-year-old and taken to the park where the defendant accused her of spreading rumours.

She said: "Did you tell some boys I'm a ho?"

The defendant denied this but was subjected to a brutal assault from the younger girls while Barrington-Brown filmed it on her mobile.

She was left with a fringe burned to the scalp, cuts and bruises on her face, a deep cut on her left arm and cuts to her feet after being forced bare-foot into a bush.

The trial is expected to last until Wednesday.
