A rapist who attacked two women has been sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Bobby Lee Urwin drunkenly raped two women in their own homes in two separate incidents within a four month period.

The unemployed 31-year-old raped the first woman on Christmas Eve last year, at an address in Kingston, holding her hands above her head and ignoring her pleas for him to stop.

He raped a second woman on March 13, 2011, at an address in Chessington while on bail and living at the Surbiton YMCA.

Urwin was arrested on March 16 and charged with rape and remanded into custody.

On May 13 he was charged for the first offence; both investigations were then joined and heard during the same trial.

In both cases the victims were known to Urwin, who was found guilty by a jury sitting at the Old Bailey after a week-long trial on Monday, September 19.

During the trial, the court heard the first woman sent the second a warning about Urwin, via Facebook, but she believed his claims of innocence.

Urwin, of no fixed address, was sentenced on Friday, November 18.
