More than 700 people threw themselves off Battersea Power Station this weekend raising £162,000 for The Stroke Association.

On Saturday (November 19), the 780 brave volunteers ventured up to the top of the power station and abseiled 100ft down with the support of on hand experts.

Ellie Tunbridge, the event organiser, said: "It was an amazing day. Loads of generous and daring people took part in the abseiling and we raised an enormous amount of money.

"We would just like to thank everybody who spent their weekend throwing themselves off Battersea Power Station."

The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.
