A third teenage girl has been found guilty of carrying out a brutal sustained attack on a 13-year-old girl.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named, was found guilty at Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday November 24 following the attack in Grange Park, Thornton Heath in June last year Another 16-year-old, and 19-year-old Lauren Barrington-Brown had already pleaded guilty to three charges, administering poison with intent to injure, actual bodily harm and false imprisonment.

The court heard how the victim, now 14, was cut with a tile, hit with a brick, had her hair burned and cut was spat on and then threatened her family would be attacked should she report it.

She told the court said: “She told me to lie down she pushed me to the ground. The other two were holding my arms and legs and she started jumping on my belly.

“She said they would cut my little brother and little sister’s head off and put them outside my house.”

The court heard she was lured out by the 16-year-old and taken to the park where the defendant accused her of spreading rumours.

She said: "She asked did you tell some boys I'm a ho?"

The victim denied this but was dragged by her hair to the ground by the younger girls while Barrington-Brown filmed it on her mobile.

The attack left her with a fringe burned to the scalp, cuts and bruises on her face, a deep cut on her left arm and cuts to her feet.

A jury of six men and six women found the teenager guilty.

The trio will be sentenced on January 6.
