Yates bar has won top prizes in the Croydon Best Bar None competition.
The town centre pub won the top overall prize, awarded jointly by the police and Croydon Council as well as the top late night venue category.
Bes Bar None scores licensed premises against a wide range of criteria with the assessment form over thirty pages long and ratings everything from toilets and cloakrooms to CCTV, staff training and the layout of the tills behind the bar.
Councillor Simon Hoar, cabinet member for community safety, said: “You’ve got to be good to get accredited and the standards for Best Bar None are way above the legal minimum.
“We make no apologies for aiming for such high standards because we want Croydon’s night time economy to be the very best.”
