A former child care worker who gave up her career to pursue her love of IT is in line for an apprenticeship award.
Luisa Short, 23, has been nominated for the London Learning Consortium award after being nominated by her apprenticeship assessor.
Catherine Flattery said Miss Short had demonstrated an enthusiasm for her new role after a dramatic switch of career from childcare.
She said: "Luisa's inspiring story goes to show even in these recessionary times it pays not to settle for a role which isn't right for you."
Louisa said: "I had a job in child care for a year and three months and even though I enjoyed being around children and still do, it wasn't something I felt I could do full time."
