Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper reckons Tuesday’s trip to league leaders Lowestoft Town will be the litmus test of his side’s Ryman Premier League title credentials.

The Blues beat Tooting & Mitcham 3-0 at Imber Court on Saturday, thanks to goals from Duran Reynolds, Tyron Smith and Chris Bourne.

It kept Cooper’s men in fourth place and just four points off the top of the table as the busy Christmas period approaches.

“The Lowestoft game will show if we are good enough to win this league or not,” said the manager, whose side is without a game this Saturday.

“That comment may raise some eyebrows, but we have a team that on our day is as good as anyone in this league. And we are now starting to understand what is needed to win games in this division.”
