Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a maisonette in St Helier.
Firefighters from Sutton fire station were called to the property in Love Lane, at around 12.05am.
The crew extinguished the fire behind the front door of the first floor flat, before searching the property but no-one was home.
A man in his 60s was helped out of the downstairs flat while the crew tackled the blaze.
Half of the street were left without power following the incident, after a cable was burnt through.
Two fire appliances were sent to the scene and the fire investigation unit also attended.
A spokesman for Sutton fire station said: "The fire investigation unit were called to take over the scene and decided it was suspicious.
"The case has been handed over to police for investigation."
