Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Croydon.

At around 10.20pm on Thursday November 3, police were called to a collision involving a silver Renault Megane and a male pedestrian in Purley Way, near to the junction with Coldharbour Road, Croydon.

It is believed the Megane was travelling north along Purley Way, when it was involved in the collision.

The injured man was taken to a south London Hospital having sustained serious injuries, but the 48-year-old subsequently died in hospital on November 21.

A post mortem examination has been scheduled for Monday, November 28, at Croydon Mortuary.

The driver of the silver Megane a 61-year-old man, stopped at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit at Catford are leading the enquiry and are appealing for witnesses.
