Croydon Council has promised to keep refuse and recycling collections and meal on wheels services running despite the planned public sector strikes.
Thousands of council staff are expected to take strike action on Wednesday November 30 as part of a national dispute between trade unions and the government over pensions.
The Council is promising to try and keep as many services running and calling on any schools planning to close to inform parents immediately.
Libraries, including the central library in Katharine Street, Thornton Heath, South Norwood and Bradmore Green will be open but could run a reduced service.
The museum and Riesco Gallery in the Clocktower complex will also be open, while leisure centres, with the exception of Croydon Arena are also expected to remain open.
Council leader Mike Fisher said: “While we will not know the full picture until the day itself, we are doing everything we can to help keep vital public services running during any industrial action.
“We have written to all schools urging them to let parents know in good time if they are going to be closed or not.”
