Campaigners unveiled a confusing message as they continued the fight against changes to constituency boundaries.
They greeted passengers arriving at Wimbledon station this weekend with the message welcome to Mitcham. Saturday's stunt was part of a campaign against plans by the Government's Boundary Commission to put key parts of Wimbledon - including its station - in a Mitcham seat, a move critics said would leave MPs less able to tackle local issues.
Under plans announced in September the new seat would also include parts of Streatham and Morden, while the bulk of the current Wimbledon seat would form a constituency with New Malden. The commission has been instructed to re-draw the political map and reduce the number of MPs in England from 533 to 502.
On Sunday campaign group Keep Wimbledon United said its petition against the new boundaries had attracted 953 signatures. The deadline for the public to give their view on the plans is Monday, December 5.
