Pupils pushing ahead of their schooling have been rewarded for their hard work.
More than 100 children studying at the Kumon Centre, Thornton Heath received awards for achievements in English and Maths at a ceremony on Saturday November 26.
Kumon take in students aged between three and 16 and provide worksheets and study guides to be worked on nightly, to improve their core educational skills.
Centre trainer Nina Acharja said: “This was a way of rewarding their hard work. It is a lot to ask of a child and they should all be very proud.”
Bronze achievers have reached school standard for their age, silver winners are up to a year ahead and gold achievers are a year or more ahead of their school age.
The awards were handed out by Croydon councillor for Thornton Heath Louisa Woodley and Kumon area director Daryl Johnson
