Police are growing increasingly concerned for the safety of a care home resident who has been missing since Sunday.

Maria Santos-Gouveia, 69, was last seen at around 7.45am on Sunday, November 27, at the home in Eversley Road, Upper Norwood.

There have been unconfirmed sightings of Mrs Santos-Gouveia in the Crystal Palace Triangle area, and near to Anerley rail station on Anerley Road.

She is described as white, around 5ft 3in in height, medium build with short dark./greying hair.

She was wearing a black and white checked nightdress, brown jacket and black shoes. She also wears glasses with thick, clear frames.

Mrs Santos-Gouveia suffers from a number of medical issues, including diabetes and although she understands English, she may speak Portuguese.

Detective Sergeant Tim Hammond from Croydon CID said: "We think Mrs Santos-Gouveia may have made her way towards the Crystal Palace/Anerley area, so would urge anybody in that area to keep their eyes peeled or to contact us if they remember seeing her at all."

Anyone who may be able to assist police should call officers at Croydon Police Station on 0208 649 0258, or the National Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700 700.
