A motorist has been arrested following the death of an 86-year-old woman in a road traffic collision.
The incident happened at about 1pm yesterday on Station Rise at the corner with Christchurch Road in Tulse Hill.
Ambulance crews and an air ambulance were called to the scene but it is thought the pensioner died shortly afterwards.
Police said the driver of a vehicle involved, a 27-year-old man, had been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was released on bail yesterday to return to a south London police station in late January.
Christchurch Road at the junction of Norwood Road was closed immediately after the incident but it has now re-opened.
Anyone with information about what happened should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
