TV legend Michael Aspel visited hospice patients and took a tour of their new facilities on Monday, November 21.
The visit to Princess Alice Hospice, in Esher, came ahead of his appearance as celebrity guest at the candlelight Christmas event on Saturday, December 10.
He took time to chat with patients and examined the new bathing facilities that come complete with mood lighting, jacuzzi baths and music stations.
Matron Jo Reynolds said: “Each new development helps the hospice to give the best possible care and support to patients and their families.
“He said that he is always impressed by the staff and the hospice and all that we do and he asked me to pass on his thanks and praise to the whole team.”
The candlelight Christmas concert takes place at Holy Trinity Church, Claygate.
