Police cadets in Lambeth have been praised for their services to the community by a youth charity.
Members of the group, including 17-year-old Osman Rashed (pictured), were presented with achievement awards by the Jack Petchey Foundation at a ceremony in Kensington on Sunday, November 27.
The foundation, which was established in 1999, provides £27,400 of funding each year to cadet units across London.
Vice Lord Lieutenant for London, Mike Dudgeon, who attended the ceremony, said: “When young people today are casually written off as disengaged, feral gangs, I find it hugely heartening that so many are flocking to join the Volunteer Police Cadets and showing they care about their communities and their values.”
