A man was thrown from his car and trapped underneath it when his car rolled over several times on a verge in Esher.
The 28-year-old suffered serious head and facial injuries and was rushed to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, after being cut free by firefighters.
The black Volkswagen Passat was travelling down the Portsmouth Road towards Cobham at about 3.30am on Thursday, December 1.
Police closed Portsmouth Road between the junctions with Blackhills and Claremont Avenue and the road was fully reopened at about 7am.
Before the collision the Passat had travelled from Kingston, along Kingston Road, through Long Ditton to the Scilly Isles roundabout and then down Esher High Street.
No other cars were involved.
