A man has been arrested in connection with "threatening behaviour" towards women in a park.
Merton Police were called to Morden Park on Monday, November 29, after reports that someone had unsuccessfully tried to drag a woman into a bush.
More officers have been deployed to patrol the park this week.
This afternoon, Chief Inspector Mark Lawrence confirmed that a man had been arrested for two public order offences and remains in custody.
He said: "We have been concerned about the actions of a male in Morden Park towards women, but we are keen to stress we have not made an arrest for sexual offences but for threatening behaviour.
"We have increased patrols in the area and would be very keen to speak to anyone who may have more information."
Anyone with information should call 101 or dial 999 in an emergency.
