Tributes have been paid to a 19-year-old student who was found dead in his Roehampton University room last week.

Glen James, from Barnstaple, Devon, was found dead by police officers in his student accommodation at the university last Thursday.

Mr James was a business studies student at the university and had recently become a co-presenter on a student radio show.

Friends and family have posted tributes on Facebook page RIP Glen James.

His brother Mark James said: "Although he wasn't at university for that long it's touching to know he made so many friends in the short time he was there."

Laura Burchell also said: "I still can't believe what's happened. It was only the other day that I spoke to you, seven years at primary school and tonnes of memories in which will never be forgotten."

A spokesperson from the university said: "The University of Roehampton is saddened by the sudden death of one of its students.

"University welfare staff and the student union are working hard to support and comfort students and staff, and our thoughts are with the student's family and friends at this difficult time."

It is understood police are not treating the death as suspicious. A post-mortem examination was carried out last Friday, but the results were inconclusive.

A memorial is being held on campus next Wednesday (December 9) in Southlands College, Roehampton Lane, for staff and students.

It will take place close to his college flat in the Southlands residences, between blocks A and B at 6pm.

There is also a book of condolences and candles in the college chapel.
