A 94-year old woman with an impeccable memory and love for storytelling has just published her third book.

Gwyneth Lambert, was born in 1917, attended Wallington County High School and joined the Women’s Land Army during World War II.

She said she even took inspiration from tales her mother used to tell her about life before the First World War.

Mrs Lambert from Wallington said: “I wrote all of three of my books 30 years ago when I retired at 60- my husband played bowls and I had nothing else to do so I wrote books.

“I’m no typist- I used to do it all in long hand- that shows how often my husband played bowls.

“All of my books are based on people I’ve known all my life and things that have happened throughout my life- and it’s quite a long life.

“I’m 94 now - I shan’t be here for long - when I go [the books] will just end on a rubbish heap which seems like an absolute pity."

Mrs Lambert’s book, the Dinner Party begins with a gathering of 13 guests where a prediction is made that one of their members will die before the year is out.

The story follows the dinner guests as their lives unfold throughout the year, each unique but some interlinking with others.

But what the reader really wants to know is: will anyone be missing from the dinner party 12 months on?

Mrs Lambert has promised that the Dinner Party will not be her last book either.
