Father Christmas has found some time in his busy schedule to visit Cheam and raise money for local charities.

Having started on Sunday, December 4, Father Christmas will be touring the streets and bringing Christmas greetings on a float funded by the Cheam Rotary Club.

It is estimated that around 200 people from local charities will accompany the float which will visit homes in the Cheam and Worcester Park in an attempt to exceed last year’s total of just under £4,500.

The float which has been running since 1966 will be on the streets for 19 nights. Two members of the original team, both in their eighties will be out collecting again this year.

During the week Father Christmas will be out and about from 6.30 onwards and on Sundays he will be out after 4pm.
