Co-creator and author of Cbeebies hit TV series Rastamouse, Michael De Souza, visited libraries in Sutton on Saturday.
The was scheduled to be part of the borough’s Black History Month celebrations in October, but had been delayed because of Mr De Souza's ill health.
His interactive storytelling got the audience dressing up in costumes and voicing the now popular characters of the crime fighting rodents in their distinctive Jamaican patois.
The recent Children’s Programme BAFTA award nominee also judged a colouring in competition for the younger residents at the Circle in Carshalton and the Phoenix in Wallington.
