X-Factor star Craig Colton wowed crowds at the Christmas lights switch on in Clapham Junction last Wednesday.

The singer treated fans to renditions of 'Jar of Hearts' by Christina Perri and 'Set Fire to the Rain' by Adele.

Mayor Councillor Jane Cooper switched on the lights, followed by a fireworks display.

A light show lit-up Debenhams, whilst snow cannons made sure it was a white Christmas for the audience during the show.

Christmas carols were performed by a gospel choir to celebrate the relaunch of the area in time for festive shopping.

Regeneration spokesman Councillor James Cousins said: "This was a fantastic event with so many people enjoying the festivities and the live musical performances.

"The Christmas lights are truly spectacular and create a fantastic display along St John's Road and the area surrounding Clapham Junction station.

"On behalf of the council I would like to thank all those involved in making this event such a success. They have worked tremendously hard to make the launch of this year's Christmas season at Clapham Junction such a memorable and spectacular occasion."
