A number of homes have been left without phone or internet access after thieves stole cable over the weekend.
It is believed an unknown length of BT cable was stolen on the evening of Saturday, December 3, causing disruption to homes across Epsom who are still without telephone or internet access.
Homes in Clarendon Park, Horton Crescent, Cavendish Walk and Norris Close are known to have been affected.
Roberto Castiglioni, 47, of Horton Crescent, called BT after noticing his phone line was not working on Sunday morning.
He said: "Because I have a special needs child my number is on record with the emergency services and I wanted to know what was going on.
"To be without a phone line for 3 or 4 days is a little much."
Residents have been told engineers are working to resolve the problem but normal service is not expected until December 7 or 8.
Mr Castiglioni added: “If it was just one or two houses it would be understandable but when a number of families are affected I would expect them to work around the clock to restore the service.
“Since they are insured they should try to compensate the users.”
