A motley crew of ice fairies, Morris men and reindeer gathered at the weekend for Leatherhead’s Christmas Festival.

The town centre came alive on Saturday, December 3, with entertainers, including the Ewell St Mary Morris Dancers and carol singers accompanied by the Mole Valley Silver Band.

Children were able to enjoy a visit to Santa and Rudi the Reindeer while ice fairies Pixykin and Fluffkin delighted shoppers.

Councillor Kathryn Westwood, portfolio holder for partnerships at Mole Valley Council, said: “We enjoy organising this fabulous family event with our partner organisations.

“It gets more and more popular each year.

“It’s a great way for us to connect with our communities and encourage residents to support local businesses.” Carol singing, dancing and a modern nativity scene will take place in the town centre on Saturday, December 10, 17 and 24 with a gift fair in the Swan Centre on December 17.

The High Street market will also be open every Monday, Thursday and Saturday ahead of Christmas.
