The Clapham Junction riots are the subject of a Channel 4 reconstruction being screened over the Christmas period.
London's Burning stars David Morrissey and Samantha Bond as senior police officers working during the August disorder.
Witness testimonies and interviews have been used in the hour-long drama to tell different narratives from the perspective of people affected.
The Channel 4 website said: "This drama is the story of what happened based on the testimony of some of those who were there.
"They are vivid testimonies to the enduring values of humanity, courage, compassion, determination, kindness and tolerance."
It was directed by Justin Hardy (The Man Who Corssed Hitler, City of Vice) and written by Mark Hayhurst (The Year London Blew Up: 1974).
London's Burning is on Channel 4 on December 22 at 9pm.
