Fog will once again greet south London and Surrey this morning, before the sun tries to break through this afternoon.
However, Met Office forecasters warn clouds could prevail, meaning a cloudy day across the south east.
A forecaster said: "It will be a mainly cloudy day, with some mist and drizzle to start.
"Through the afternoon the cloud should start to lift and break, allowing some bright or sunny spells to develop in places later."
He said temeperatures were set to hit 12C.
After a dip in temperatures on Tuesday night, the same is forecast for this evening, with thermometers likely to hit 4C.
"It is likely to become cloudier again through the night, with some mist and fog expected to develop," the forecaster warned.
"Feeling chilly, though no frost is expected."
Meanwhile, things are set to improve on Thursday, with morning fog lifting to reveal sunshine and temperatures of around 18C.
