A plucky motorist freed herself after her car overturned in a residential street last night.
Firefighters from Woodside fire station were called to reports of a road traffic accident in Shirley Avenue, Croydon, shortly after 10pm.
They found a 61-year-old woman suffering from minor injuries after the car she was driving flipped onto its roof.
Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.
But a spokesman for the fire station said the motorist had freed herself before emergency teams arrived.
“She was lucky to get out without any serious injuries,” he said.
Police are investigating.
