New parking restrictions are being introduced in Cobham this month to encourage more customers to the area.
Parking bays allowing two hours of free parking are coming to Church Street and High Street.
The disabled parking bay outside Farrants and Maison Blanc will be relocated further up the High Street outside Boots and Carluccio’s.
Limiting free parking to two hours will enable shoppers to park for short periods and browse the shops without making it a special shopping trip.
It was hoped the changes would encourage people to support the shops in Cobham.
Some car parking spaces by the river have been replaced with a new footpath which allows unimpeded pedestrian access at Riverhill between Cobham Mill and the High Street.
The alterations have opened up the views across the river which will be further enhanced by the Riverhill project, due to be completed by Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust later this year.
