A family cycling map highlighting a network of routes around Epsom and Ewell has been designed to inspire people to get active this summer.

The council has produced the map, which contains top tips and information on family friendly routes that avoid major and busy roads. It also provides safety and security tips and where to go for further information.

The map aims to promote areas of natural beauty o explore, but also provides ideas for family days out visiting parks and historic sites.

Councillor Jan Mason, chairman of the leisure committee said: "This map aims to allow families to discover how a bike ride together can be fun, rewarding and interesting. Best of all its free! Epsom & Ewell has some of the most beautiful open spaces in the UK and we want to encourage as many families as possible to get out there and enjoy them".

Councillor Anna Jones added: "The family map is an excellent idea and as Borough Cycling Champion I was delighted to be involved with it. It has safe, family friendly routes clearly marked out in areas across the borough. It is a really healthy way to take in some of the wonderful green spaces in our borough."

The map is available for download on the council’s website at www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/ or can be picked up from locations across the borough including the Town Hall, the Ebbisham Centre, Bourne Hall, Horton Country Park and local libraries.
