A campaign to overturn the council's decision to stop the Warehouse Theatre's funding started in earnest this week.
The under-threat arts venue had its £125,000 per year funding slashed as part of a string of council budget cuts to make up a £37m black hole in the town hall's finances.
Supporters have started a campaign called C4 (Conserve Croydon's Culture Campaign) to persuade the council to change their minds.
Ted Craig, the theatre's chief executive and artistic director, said: "We've got a lot of things in store and we will do all we can to get the decision reversed."
Mr Craig has branded Croydon Council as "dishonourable" after failing to fulfil their financial obligations for this year after withdrawing the last instalment of this year's grant - despite the theatre already publishing a diary of events until February.
"The immediate part of our campaign is to get the last quarter of this year's grant," added Ted.
"The way they haven't given us the last instalment is really underhanded because they know we have an obligation to see out the programme."
