Croydon Schools Football Association's U15s bowed out of the NUT sponsored English Schools' Football Association's inter association trophy at Croydon Arena last week.
An unfortunate fumble by new goalkeeper Ryan Lisbey (Coulsdon) enabled their Hampshire visitors to take a sixth minute lead.
But Croydon got back on level terms when Alex Belo (St Andrew's) was on hand to tap in a shot from Grant Ludford (Ashburton) which had been parried.
Croydon worked hard and created some openings but the visitors went 2-1 up on the stroke of half-time with a well-worked goal.
Patrick Brooks (Harris CTC) came on in goal for Croydon but his first touch of the ball was to pick it out of the net when a 25 yard shot was rifled home two minutes into the second period Aldershot and Farnborough bossed the second half and Croydon rarely threatened.
