In-form shot-stopper Chris Gibson is set to miss Saturday's FA Cup clash at Mangotsfield Town after Leatherhead boss Dave Harlow revealed Paul Borg was the man in possession of the number one spot.
Award-winning keeper Gibson has missed the past two games through injury after limping off during last week's FA Cup second qualifying round replay win over Cray Wanderers.
Gibson had helped secured a second bite of the cherry with a heroic performance in the first match at Cray but picked up a thigh strain in the rematch.
He was on the sidelines for Tuesday's 4-2 FA Trophy win at Berkhamsted Town, and, although he is nearing fitness, Harlow will not risk him for Saturday's trip to Bristol.
"I've always said to the players if they come in and take their chance they will keep their place and Paul Borg has done that in Chris's absence," he said.
"It is a bit harsh but I can't take the chance of starting Chris and seeing him break down early in the game.
"I learned last season that you can't let feelings come into it when you are selecting the team and, although they are all good lads, I have got to be realistic."
Borg had little to do in Tuesday's FA Trophy preliminary round replay at Berkhamsted as three goals in the first 25 minutes effectively killed off the Tanners' opponents.
Steve Sargent scored from the edge of the box after 15 minutes, before Lee Doherty and Sargent, again, put the result beyond doubt with two goals in a minute.
The home side pulled one back on half time after an unsavoury incident which left Adam Gray requiring stitches to a head injury, but Iain Hendry ensured there would be no fightback when he headed home Sargent's free kick after the restart.
It was the Tanners' first win in the competition since 1989, but Harlow was left fuming over the tactics of their opponents ahead of Saturday's big FA Cup clash.
"Once they realised they couldn't live with us in a footballing sense they resorted to roughing things up a little bit and unfortunately the referee lost total control," he added.
The Tanners needed a stoppage-time equaliser from substitute Julian Thompson to earn a 1-1 draw in the original tie with Berkhamsted at Fetcham Grove on Saturday.
Leatherhead: Borg, Beer, Gray, Duncan, Doherty, Holmes, Sargent, Hendry (Carpenter), Charles-Smith, Bolger (Thompson), Stevens.
