I would like to say a really big thank you to everyone in Sutton who got together for a cup of coffee on Friday September 29 and helped raise money as part of Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Joining the many local coffee mornings taking place were staff at UCB Home Loans (in Sutton Court Road) who sold cakes and raffle tickets to bring in extra cash and Cooper BMW (in Oatlands Road, Tadworth) who supplied a steady stream of coffee and pastries in return for donations.
Overall, it was a great day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It's amazing to think that simply enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, neighbours, families or colleagues can make a difference to people affected by cancer but it really does.
Donations given in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support will help to fund vital information and counselling centres, specialist Macmillan medical staff, buildings for cancer treatment and care, as well as grants for patients in financial difficulties.
And don't forget if you did register to take part, you can claim free entry to the Bramah Museum of Tea and Coffee (at 40 Southwark Street, London SE1 1UN). Just show your registration letter to staff when you arrive or give the museum a call on 020 7403 5650 for more information.
For those of you who missed out on the day you can still help Macmillan support people living with cancer by donating online at macmillan.org.uk/coffee, by calling 0845 602 1246 or by posting cheques to World's Biggest Coffee Morning, Macmillan Cancer Support, Freepost RG172, Bracknell, RG12 1ZX.
