May I take this opportunity to thank all those kind people who went to my mother's aid when she was mugged on Thursday September 21 in Collingwood Road.
She is 87 years old and was taking her dog for a walk at about 3.30pm when she was approached from behind, her hair pulled and a knee thrust into her back, knocking her to the ground.
She suffered a fractured hip and bad bruising to her arm when her bag was wrenched away.
She is still in hospital after undergoing an operation and is still in pain, but would also like to thank the many people who went to her aid, calling for the police and ambulance and looking after her dog.
