I am writing to your letters page to say thank you to the stranger that helped me on Thursday, September 21.

On that morning I was stung by a wasp while waiting for the bus to take my children to school. I am allergic to wasp stings so I needed to get to a doctor as soon as possible.

On route to my local doctor's surgery I started having difficulty in breathing. A young woman who I think is called Kelly, stopped to assist me.

Unfortunately, I couldn't talk to her as I was having trouble breathing. So between my seven-year-old daughter and this stranger they called an ambulance and a friend of mine to collect my children.

Kelly stayed with my children while I was attended to by the paramedic and then when I was taken in the ambulance she stayed with my children until my friend arrived.

I would like to thank Kelly very much for taking the time to help me and my three very worried children. I am disappointed that I was unable to say thank you personally so I am using the Sutton Guardian to show my appreciation.

This experience has shown me that there are still members of the public that will help out a stranger when needed as there are many that will walk on past people needing help.
