I was travelling on a No 3 tram when passengers were subjected to a stream of foul language being yelled at us by a woman for our entire journey.
The captive audience of 40 had no escape from this appalling experience. Afterwards I met some transport police officers and asked them what we passengers were supposed to do - their answer was to get out at the next stop and use the aid telephone on the platform.
Now just how practical is that?
What we need is the immediate fitting, inside the tram coaches, of an emergency communication system similar to that on the station platforms T MUNDY Croham Road South Croydon
