May I suggest that our MP studies Aspire, the excellent house magazine of Ashford St Peter's Hospital Trust (MP's letter, October 5).
It is factual - rarely an adjective applied to our MP in commenting on its admirable achievements.
In a context of the trust's spending of £172 million in 2005/2006 its deficit was £7.6 million, around just four per cent, but its activity level rose by six per cent.
In two years' time our hospital trust will have scored a superb hat-trick of success never known under a Conservative government.
One, it will be in financial surplus.
Two, its level of activity and patent satisfaction will approach 100 per cent. Three, its funding far from being slashed will be at an all time high.
If Spelthorne had an MP at ease with figures and of true commitment, the trust's budget would not be £172 million but a comfortable £180 million.
