A bright start to the day is set to end in scattered showers across the south east, according to forecasters.
After a sweltering day on Sunday, London and Surrey can expect a band of cloud and rain to reach them as the day progresses.
A Met Office forecaster said: "Highest temperatures and dry and bright conditions will occur ahead of the rain.
"Sunny spells and scattered showers following, with some occasionally heavy showers. Maximum Temperature 16C."
Tonight, many places will become dry, clear and chilly as most of the showers die away.
However, later tonight scattered showers may return with temperatures falling to around 5C.
Tomorrow is set to see much of the same, with some sunshine among scattered showers, including the threat of thunder.
