The sunniest spell so far this year is giving south London and Surrey a welcome break from poor weather.
Temperatures are set to top 28C today, with forecasters predicting more of the same as the weekend looms.
Met Office experts predicted a cooler but clear night on Thursday, although some showers could drift into Kent.
The Mercury will not drop below 16C overnight.
Tomorrow, the forecaster said it would feel cooler than today, but still sunny.
"Dry and sunny, but feeling less warm than on Thursday in a brisk to strong easterly wind," he said.
Temperatures would stay high, up around 28C, he added.
