Shocked children at Chessington Community College witnessed part of yesterday’s triple stabbing as they were walking home.
Three teenagers received stab wounds and large parts of the Leatherhead Road and alleyways around Nigel Fisher Way were cordoned off last night as detectives searched for evidence.
A teenager, believed to be 17, who received stab wounds, has been arrested and is in custody after receiving hospital treatment.
Another boy, thought to be 16, has also been arrested and is in custody after being treated.
A third teenager, also believed to be 16, is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Chessington Community College principal, Rob Niedermaier-Reed, said: “Some of our children happened to be passing so we are concerned for their welfare because they have seen part of an upsetting incident.
“As far as we are aware none of the people involved had any connection to Chessington Community College.
“We have had a couple of upset children today. Our main priority is just to look after those children.”
Blood marks could be seen in an alleyway near Chessington Cricket Club yesterday afternoon covered by a police forensic shield.
