A 20-year-old man will reappear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on October 30 charged with the burglary of a pet shop on Saturday.
After being called to an incident of criminal damage at Woolworths in Selsdon Christopher Willmott, of no fixed abode, was arrested.
After questioning he was also arrested for an attempted burglary of Homebase and Pets at Home in Purley Way.
He was not charged in relation to the Homebase attempted burglary and Woolworths criminal damage.
Willmott appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Monday and was ordered to return on October 30.
