Burgess Hill 2

Burgess Hill's picturesque Leylands Park was the scene of the Rams latest set back, writes Rob Cavallini.

The Rams made a positive start and James Gibson's deflected flicked shot glanced off the Burgess Hill post in the second minute.

The Rams came close again on nine minutes when Paul Scott shot wide, before Simon Moore wasted a good opportunity in front of goal after being set up by Scott.

Burgess Hill took the lead when Lloyd Cotton supplied a fantastic ball to Neil Watts who made no mistake on 24 minutes.

Rams' Falana had a header saved shortly after, but it was Burgess Hill who looked the more threatening.

The Rams could have gone in at the interval level after Moore forced Foster into a good reflex save.

The second half was one to forget from an Athletic point of view.

After a bright start, they faded to nothing with a series a elementary mistakes and lack of movement which gave the Burgess Hill defence one of their easiest afternoons of the season.

The hosts scored their second on the hour as Dan Turner hit a great shot on the volley past a helpless James Wastell.

The introduction of the lively Moses Ademola could not retrieve the situation, although he went close just moments after coming on when he fired over with 15 minutes left.

Rams' day was summed up as Moore went through one-on-one with Foster, but the keeper was more than equal to the shot.

Tyrone Myton was dismissed late on for an over the top challenge to complete a bad day at the office for the Rams.
